Welcome to the medical
practice of Dennis Dahlstedt, M.D.! Our practice is limited to
Gastroenterology,
a medical specialty pertaining to the digestive system.
Gastroenterologists diagnose and treat disorders of the
esophagus, stomach, intestines, gallbladder, liver, and
pancreas.
A large portion of our
practice includes endoscopic screening of the large intestine
(colon) for the detection and prevention of cancer. We also see
patients who have diarrhea, constipation, bleeding, abdominal
pain, chest pain, swallowing complications, unexplained anemia,
liver disease, and other symptoms. We have a special interest in
inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and Ulcerative
Colitis).
Our practice has just recently implemented a revolutionary new procedure in GI endoscopy known as the Capsule Endoscopy. Using a vitamin-pill sized video capsule as an endoscope, the physician has the ability to examine the small intestine as never before. The capsule will travel throughout the patient’s body, capturing two images a second, which are sent to a data recorder attached to the waist belt and are examined by the physician. Currently, we are the only office in the area to provide such a service and our staff has been specially trained to administer this procedure for our patients.
We
believe that patients have a right to expect the highest quality
of care, delivered in an efficient, cost conscious manner.
Every individual, patient, or employee should be treated with
dignity and respect. We strive to provide prompt, quality
service to patients. Every patient deserves to be treated with
the utmost in care and concern. We will do everything in our
ability to make sure this happens. We have just updated our Privacy Policy according to the new HIPPA Guidelines.
